Jamee and Dino Carmel Anniversary Shoot

The best love is the one that makes you a better person, without changing you into someone other than yourself.
Thank you for encouraging me to be the best version of myself, while giving me the best version of you.

The back story:  Before Jamee was swept off her feet and whisked away, she lived here in Arizona working as a nurse in Phoenix.  We actually worked in the same department, and I want to add that she was an awesome nurse!  Enter Dino..... Dino had come down to Phoenix for a business meeting and incidentally was introduced to Jamee.  They continued to date even after he left back to California.  It didn't long before they realized they were falling for each other.  Jamee decided to take a leap of faith and move to California with Dino.  Now that is commitment! 🙂 Their love for travel and outgoing nature made them a great match.  I would frequently see their travels on Facebook, and decided it was time for me to get in touch with these two amazing souls!

I have been wanting to do a destination shoot for some time now!  So when Jamee agreed to meet up in SoCal I was giddy with the possibilities.   I was already dreaming about strolling down the white sandy beaches, cooler weather and trying out the local cuisine, which added a whole nutha level of excitement.  Yes I am a foodie by nature, but enough about food and back to the romance.... Jamee sent me a list of different areas to research and decide which one would be the best for our shoot.  While all the locations she listed where noteworthy, there was something about Carmel that sucked me in. One look at the  craggy rocks and lush vegetation had me hooked.   With that, we set the the date and location for Point Lobos in Carmel.  The evening that we arrived thick fog was coming down off the mountains and provided a different lighting scenario for me to work with. I usually like light filled images that make my clients glow, but I loved the look that this light provided.  I felt it set the perfect stage to capture their deep connection.

As I was shooting I had the two of them play and goof off to warm them up.  One thing you will find when you have a session with me is that while we will get those romantic charming poses, I incorporate a lot of the couples personality into the session, by having them pretend to whisper sweet nothings in the others ear or dance like there is no one but them for miles.   The landscape was so picturesque!  Just off the coast we were able to do some whale watching, and I have to admit it was pretty amazing!  Just below the crumbling cliffs was a small colony of vocal seals.  We explored and peered off some of the jagged edged cliffs viewing the expanse of the ocean.   After fun filled evening of shooting, we said our goodbyes and parted ways on a promise to return when they finally decide to get hitched!  Hint hint ha ha  I'm so glad they found each other, and I allowed me to document what their love looks like.  Until next time you two!
